Groeschel specific field rules
(PROPOSED)
|
- Engine test and flying hours from 10 AM to 9 PM, seven days per week.
- Do not fly near or over houses or operating equiment. This rule will be strictly enforced.
- The maximum sound level permitted is 96 dB(A) measured as follows: At a distance of 25 feet from the model, downwind, over grass, abeam the prop arc, at a measurement height of 24 inches.
- Retrieve model aircraft on foot only.
- Drive only on access road or parking lot taking care not to worsen or create any new ruts.
- ARCS has right to close access road and parking area during breakup.
- Overnight camping in the parking lot is permitted for ARCS members.
- Long-term camping exceeding two nights is not permitted, except in conjunction with a special ARCS sponsored event.
- Gas barbecue type grills in sound working order are permitted for outdoor cooking. No other open flames or campfires permitted.

Runway location and layout (see depiction below):
- The R/C runway runs East-West in the middle of a HUGE (600 acre) hay field. The pilots face North (no sun in your face!).
- Parking is to the South of the access road with the pits between the road and the runway.
- To reach the field, take the next entrance South of the Groeschel sign and drive straight into the field until you see the mowed runway.
- This is a new field, so please be cautious about where you drive until the path and runway become more established and visible.
